Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Home Science

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Home Science is an interdisciplinary programme that integrates Nutrition, Human Development, Clothing and Textiles, Family Resource Management, Housing, Community Development and Research Studies. The curriculum combines scientific knowledge with practical training to enhance students' understanding of health, nutrition, family welfare, child development, resource management and community engagement. The programme develops professional, entrepreneurial and life skills while preparing students for careers in education, nutrition, social development, research, extension services and allied fields.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Home Science must satisfy the eligibility requirements prescribed by the College and the University.

Minimum Eligibility

  • ✓ Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
  • ✓ Students from Arts, Science and Commerce streams are eligible to apply.
  • ✓ The programme is open to students with any subject combination at the Senior Secondary level.
  • ✓ Admission shall be granted according to University norms and reservation policies.
  • ✓ Relaxation, if any, shall be applicable as per Government and University regulations.

Attendance Requirements

  • Students must maintain the minimum attendance prescribed by the University.
